Waverley Council delivers and hosts a variety of events that contribute to our vibrant and diverse cultural life, while meeting community’s environmental and social sustainability expectations. We welcome the efforts of our stakeholders, staff and suppliers to ensure that all events that take place at Waverley are environmentally and socially responsible.

If you would like to hold a public, private or commercial event there is sure to be a location suitable for you. There’s no better place to have your event than at one of our world famous beaches, parks, reserves or sportsgrounds.

Applications are required for any events with 100+ people or that requires the installation of structures such as marquee, tables, chairs or jumping castles.

How do I apply?

To determine whether your event is low, medium or high impact please refer to our Events Policy

You will be sent an invoice followed by a permit for use of outdoor space.

How long does a permit take to be approved?

Low to Medium events allow 4-6 weeks from receipt of application.

High Impact events allow up to 6 months from receipt of application.

Fees and charges

The relevant fees and charges will be applied to each request.

Assessment

On receipt of your application form, we will let you know your application has been received and may request additional information if required. Please feel free to contact us should you wish to know the status of your approval.

Once the application is approved you will be sent an invoice followed by a permit for use of outdoor space.
