Outdoor venue management

Approval is required to hold a festival, street parade, charitable collection, corporate team event, commercial activity, such as fitness training or product sampling. You do not need a permit or approval to take wedding photos, hold family picnics or events without equipment or casual sport with less than five people.

If you are not bringing in any equipment (such as chairs, PA, marquee) and the invited guests do not exceed 99 people you are still required to complete an application form for a permit however there is no fee. You are free to use the park or beach. However, please ensure your group comply with the open space usage conditions:

  • Will not bring in alcohol or use any glass, confetti, rice or balloons
  • That the group attending do not damage Council property including vegetation/new planting
  • That the area is left clean and tidy and waste and recycling have been placed into the appropriate bins
  • All paths are kept clear for pedestrians to freely walk i.e no path or access to a public decking is blocked or obstructed at any time
  • No vehicle access
