Waverley is a multicultural community where one in five residents speak a language other than English and 40 per cent of residents were born overseas. Waverley Council shines a spotlight on our diverse culture, food and music at Global Table.

Held annually at Oxford Street Mall, Bondi Junction, visitors can enjoy food stalls featuring menus from around the world in the company of family, friends and neighbours at our 35-metre-long communal table. Stay for the entertainment featuring contemporary, multicultural artists who represent the vitality and diversity of Waverley and Greater Sydney.

Global Table is a free, all-ages event held in March; bookings or tickets are not required.

Bondi Festival is an arts festival for all ages, bringing the cool winter vibes to the shores of Bondi Beach every July. Featuring an ice-skating rink, a Ferris Wheel and award-winning shows and experiences at Bondi Pavilion and beyond, there’s plenty for everyone to see and do.

On the second Sunday of every September, Australia’s most anticipated kite flying event Festival of the Winds takes over Bondi Beach. Professional kite flyers and makers descend on the beach to show off kites big and small to the soundtrack of concerts in Bondi Park.

The festival welcomes people of all ages for a celebration of kite making and flying, alongside a full-day program of entertainment in Bondi Park and Bondi Pavilion, as well as delicious food stalls and arts and craft.

Waverley Council presents this event alongside the Australian Kite Flying Society (AKFS).
