Art Prize winner 2025

Congratulations to Rosemary Lee who has been awarded the 39th Waverley Art Prize for the drawing 25-2. Lee was the winner of the Dobell Drawing Prize, Megalo residency, William Fletcher grant for drawing, Clyde and Co. Art Award and ADFAS residency. She received the highly commended award in the Tony White Memorial, and has been selected as a finalist in the Portia Geach Memorial, Lester portrait prize, Brett Whiteley Travelling Scholarship and more. She has been awarded the $15,000 Open Prize and her artwork has ben acquired into the Waverley Council Art Collection.

2025

2024

Open Prize: Bronte Leighton-Dore for her painting Silent meeting, a blue sky, South Coast, based on studies done in the Bermagui State Forrest.
Highly Commended: Christoper Zanko for the work Midday Brick House.

The Mayor’s Prize: Sophie Bray for Alone with a thousand eyes.
Highly Commended: Jasmine Mowbray for Arcadia.

The Local Prize: Lisa Patroni for Geometry of Echoes.
The People’s Choice: Jasmine Mowbray for Arcadia.

2023

Open Prize: Carolyn Craig, RE/Mediation, My Mother’s broom (the subject re-drawn).
Highly Commended: Janis Clarke, Seeing you & Sarah Edmonson, Certainly.

The Mayor’s Prize: Damian Dillon, Bloodflowers.
Highly Commended: Carol Archer, Thicket.

The Local Prize: Onrie Radovic, Calibration 20.
The People’s Choice: Peta West, Old Coast Road.
