Bondi WAVE

Bondi WAVE

Bondi WAVE is one of Sydney’s most established and successful contemporary music programs for upper primary and high school students. For more than 40 years, young people aged 12–18 have been guided by leading industry professionals as they learn to write, arrange and perform their own original music.

Based in the Bondi Pavilion Music Studios, the 12-week course welcomes emerging bands as well as individual musicians looking to form a group. Each week, participants work with a rotating lineup of experienced mentors who guide them through the creative process. Past mentors have included Ben Fink (The Whitlams), Athanasia, Kristof Neyens (Boy Soda), Jason Rooke (The Tenants) and Brendan Gallagher (Karma County).

The program culminates in a live concert in the Bondi Pavilion Theatre and a professional studio recording of each band’s debut track.

Whether students are new to music or experienced musicians, Bondi WAVE offers an inspiring introduction to band performance, collaboration and creating original music.
