Waverley Council is delighted to announce the longlist for this year’s $40,000 Mark and Evette Moran Nib Literary Award. View the full longlist here. Congratulations to all longlisted authors and their publishers.

Finalists

Our 2024 finalists will each receive the Alex Buzo Shortlist Prize ($1,500) and become eligible for the Nib People’s Choice Prize, awarded by popular vote. Voting is now open and closes on 17 October 2024.

Recipients of the Nib People's Choice Prize and $40,000 Mark & Evette Moran Nib Literary Award will be announced at a public event on 27 November 2025.

Judges follow Waverley Council's conflict-of-interest procedure whereby conflicts are declared, and members of the judging panel do not participate in judging decisions regarding these titles.
