Oliver Wagner

I am an interdisciplinary artist from Switzerland who arrived in Australia 2012 and now live and works in Sydney. I experiment with conventional and expanded painting methodologies and pose questions on the perception of skill, craft and care in art. I studied painting at National Art School, where I graduated 2017 with a Master of Fine Art. I won the Jocelyn Maughan Drawing Prize 2012, the John Olson Drawing Prize and the John McCaughey Painting Prize 2015, and was shortlisted as an emerging artist for the Redlands Konica Minolta Art Prize 2018. This year I fparticipated in the group shows Paddock IV at Gallerie Abstract Project in Paris, Chroma at Sarah Cottier Gallery, Screen Shot at Articulate Upstairs, Rate of Change at COMA Gallery and was presented by Sarah Cottier Gallery at the Sydney Contemporary Art Fair. My works are held in the National Art School Collection as well as in private collections in Australia.
