Maria Buchner

Maria Buchner has won numerous art prizes and awards, and exhibited in over 70 shows and screenings across five continents.  Her work is situated within the context of Land and Environmental Art, Arte Povera, installation and mixed media sculpture. Recurring themes of roots and rootlessness, possession and renunciation, wilderness and civilization coexist throughout her work, which is often poetic in tone.

Maria Buchner's community benefit raises local awareness and respect for the Aboriginal rock carvings at the North Bondi Golf Course on Military Road. Through photography and video, Maria will explore Aboriginal links to the land and find shared connections for Indigenous and Non-Indigenous communities in the respect for the coastal environment, we all enjoy.
