Julian Talarico

Julian Talarico is a Sydney-based artist working across sculpture, installation, video and performance. His practice interrogates everyday experience, particularly the potential for the everyday to generate and hold experiences of wonder and meaning. Julian’s works explore how such experiences might be documented beyond the personal sphere as sculptural objects, object systems and through performance and its ephemera.

Julian completed his Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Sculpture at Sydney College of the Arts in 2015. During his studies, he was awarded the Zelda Stedman Young Artist Scholarship and the Fauvette Loureiro Memorial Artists’ Exchange Scholarship which allowed him to study at Parsons, The New School for Design in New York. Since graduating Julian has been included in a number of group exhibitions around Sydney, including at Alaska Projects [William St] and Interlude Gallery in 2016. He was a finalist in the Paramor Prize 2017 at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. Julian is working towards his first solo exhibitions in 2018.
