Alex Kiers

Alex Kiers is an artist and musician from Port Macquarie, NSW who currently lives and works in Sydney. He uses performance, installation, video, sound and painting as tools to think about cultural futures. He has exhibited as both a solo artist and as part of collaborative projects throughout Australia and abroad. Most recently, local shows at the MCA, Bondi Pavillion, 55 Sydenham Rd, 107 Projects, Alaska Projects and Sydney Guild as well as shows at Felt Space in Adelaide, The Walls on the Gold Coast and at Dog Park in Christchurch. In 2015, in collaboration with Claire Finneran he was commissioned to make a new work by Firstraft Gallery for Underbelly Arts Festival as well as undertaking a 6 month residency at Waverly Artist Studios. He currently works as a contractor for Galleries such as AGNSW, Hazelhurst Regional Gallery, Darren Knight, Artspace and the Sydney Biennale and was a curator of music at Society in 2011-12.
