Active Seniors Program

These great activities help improve both physical and mental health and are great fun. They are also a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friendships.

No bookings are required and entry is offered on a first come, first served bases.

It is advised you bring your own equipment needed for the class.

Programs on offer:

Table Tennis Age: Seniors / Indoor Sports Court

The centre is equipped with 10 table tennis tables.

Sessions run from 10am-1pm on Tuesdays and 10am-12pm Fridays (excluding school and Public Holidays).

Tai Chi Age: Seniors / Community Room

Tai Chi is a low impact exercise class that offers huge health benefits. These include the relief of the physical effects of stress, promotion of deep breathing, the improvement of lower body and leg strength which in turn improves balance and stability. It also, assists with relief of arthritis pain and reduced blood pressure.

The classes take place on Mondays from 11.30am-12.30pm in the community room (excluding Public Holidays).

Pilates Age: Seniors / Community Room

Pilates is a low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen and stretch the whole body with particular emphasis on postural alignment, core conditioning and breathing. After just a few sessions you will be feeling stronger and walking taller.

The class takes place every Monday and Wednesday at 9.30-10.30am (excluding Public Holidays).

Yoga Age: Seniors / Community Room

The strengthening and flexibility benefits of Yoga are well known. However, there are many more benefits to older adults from practising Yoga. It has been proven to improve sleeping habits, offset aged weight gain, improve mood and reduce anxiety.

The classes take place on Thursday mornings from 9.15-10.15am and 10.30-11.30am.

Strength & Flexibility Age: Seniors / Community Room

Fusing Pilates, Yoga, Strength & Stretch training, this Strength & Flexibility class is a total body workout focused on strength and endurance, postural alignment, balance and core strength.

The class takes place on Tuesday at 2pm-3pm.
