Waverley Art Prize 2017: Call for Entries

With an annual prize pool worth $12,000, the 2017 Waverley Art Prize is open to painting, drawing and printmaking. Entries open from Wednesday 1 March 2017. This year’s Judges are Wendy Sharpe (artist) and Will Sturrock (Director, Michael Reid Gallery, Sydney).

2017 Prizes include;

  • The Open Prize, sponsored by Waverley Council, $6,000, acquisitive
  • The Mayor’s Prize, sponsored by Waverley Council, $2,000, acquisitive
  • The Oil Painting Prize, sponsored by Art Spectrum, $1,000 worth of oil paint, non-acquisitive
  • The Acrylic Painting Prize, sponsored by Matisse Derivan, $1,000 worth of acrylic paint, non-acquisitive
  • The Drawing Prize, sponsored by Waverley Woollahra Art School, $500, non-acquisitive
  • The Printmaking Prize, sponsored by Waverley Woollahra Art School, $500, non-acquisitive
  • The People’s Choice Prize, sponsored by Waverley Council, $500, non-acquisitive

Entries close at 5pm on Monday 19 May 2017

Winners will be announced at the official launch of the Waverley Art Prize on Thursday 6 July 2017.
