Bondi Park Lighting Upgrade

Waverley Council is upgrading electrical infrastructure in Bondi Park. Works will be completed in three stages and the first stage is currently underway.

This project is part funded by the Australian Government via the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program. The LRCI Program supports local Councils to deliver priority local road and community infrastructure projects across Australia, supporting jobs and the resilience of local economies to help communities bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Construction update

Construction of the first stage of works will start in February 2023 and involves installing a new substation and main switchboard. Work is expected to take three months to complete, weather permitting, and work hours will be from 7am–5pm, Monday to Friday and 8am–1pm on Saturdays (if required).

The new substation and main switchboard will take up three parking spaces in the Bondi Park carpark (at the corner of Campbell Parade and Beach Road). During construction, these parking spaces will be sectioned off to facilitate works.

The contractor will demobilise the site from 23 February – 5 March 2023 to avoid disruptions during Sydney World Pride events and minimal fencing will remain during this period.
