Water pollution

Water pollution is any matter, material or substance that is introduced into a body of water that changes the water physically, chemically or biologically.

There are a number of sources of water which are either point or non-point sources. Point sources of pollution occur when the pollutant is released directly into the waterway, while a non-point source occurs through stormwater runoff.

This means your rubbish, dog droppings, paints and construction materials for example, could all end up in our waterways. Help keep our water clean by keeping our drains just for rain.
