Parking meters

Waverley Council also operates a network of parking meters in commercial areas and at its beaches to help manage the demand for parking.

Parking meter rates vary depending on the time and location. All parking meters accept coins and secure credit card payment, as well as payment using new PayPass, Paywave and mobile payment technology.

Pay for parking using your mobile phone with PayStay

You can now pay for metered parking at the Bondi Beach car park (Queen Elizabeth Drive and Park Drive North and South) using your mobile phone. You no longer need to pay at a meter and display the paper ticket on your vehicle. All you need to do is download the PayStay app, which is available on iPhone and Android devices or by registering at paystay.com.au. Just look for the PayStay details on the parking meter and on the parking sign.  Mobile phone parking will be rolled out in the rest of Waverley soon.

Watch this short video to see how to use the app and read our FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions).

Please note, normal payment methods for parking meters will remain in place.

15-minute ‘drop-in’ zones

There are a total of 25 suitable ‘drop-in’ zones throughout Bondi Junction, Charing Cross and Bondi Beach close to shops and businesses. These spaces are convenient for quick errands and drop offs and pick ups. Look for the 15P signs. Where they apply, a meter ticket is not required.
