Ludovico Fabiano
First elected 22 December 2021.
I acknowledge the Bidjigal and Gadigal people, who traditionally occupied the Sydney Coast and I pay my respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders both past, present and emerging.
Bondi has been my home for 27 years. My wife, Robyn and I enjoy the Bondi lifestyle of sun, beach, parks, coastal walks, cycling and dog walking - you may have seen me around Bondi walking with my two border collies Bob and Blu. Pre-Covid times table tennis was my regular weekly team sport.
I have Italian and Russian (Ukraine) heritage. In the 70s my parents decided to immigrate to Australia from Italy, hopeful for better opportunities for our family. Soon after we became Australian Citizens, so I now call Australia home.
My professional working life spanned over 40 years in the pharmaceutical industry where my career was in quality, manufacturing and regulatory affairs.
While living in Bondi I have grown to appreciate the importance of a strong community that cares for what happens in the local environment; residential amenities, parks and beaches and our local heritage - in particular, our Bondi Road heritage.
For over 13 years my role as Convenor for South Bondi/Tamarama Precinct in the Waverley Ward allowed me to meet local residents, Councillors and Council Officers in order to discuss and raise issues of concern impacting residents and our community.
Also, in my capacity as a volunteer I participated on Waverley community committees for public safety, precinct review and the Multicultural Advisory.
My plan for Waverley includes:
- Develop Community Renewable Energy Grids
- Support Vibrant Community Arts & Culture
- Improve Council Transparency To Put The Community First
- Planning For People Not Profits
- Council Net Zero Emissions By 2030
- Protect Heritage, Beaches, Trees and Green Open Space
- Introduce Food Organics, Garden Organics (FOGO)
- Stand Up Against Developer Friendly State Planning Laws
- Increase Council Childcare Places
