Multicultural Advisory Committee
We are seeking applications from community members who live, work or study in the Waverley Local Government Area and organisations who are interested in participating in our Multicultural Advisory Committee (MAC).
Aims and objectives
Waverley is an area which is rich in diversity, with almost 40 percent of residents being born overseas. Waverley Council values this diversity and is committed to building a community which is resilient and inclusive. To support this, Council has a Multicultural Advisory Committee (MAC) which provides a forum for people to;
- Find out what’s happening in the Waverley community in regard to diverse communities
- Tackle broad local issues
- Help improve Council’s access and inclusion strategies
- Participate in activities and events that promote community harmony and social cohesion
- Develop networks and community partnerships
The Committee Terms of Reference provides more information on how the Committee operates.
The MAC meets four times per year. We encourage applications from the following groups:
- Young people
- Community representatives
- Representatives of local services, regional agencies or peak bodies working with people from culturally diverse backgrounds
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people
For any further questions please contact Community Development Officer — Diversity on 9083 8999 or email adminmillhill@waverley.nsw.gov.au
