Katherine Westwood
I’ve lived in Waverley for more than 20 years now, and my husband and I have raised our four children here. I love this community and our beautiful local environment – it really is the best place on earth to live and work. I know how important our local parks, beaches and walkways are as places for community connection, recreation and mental well-being, as they have meant so much to our family over the years.
Together with a friend, I started my business, the Dinner Ladies, in the garage of my home here in Waverley. Happily, the business has thrived. I look forward to applying all that I have learnt in the course of growing this business to applying best practice to public projects and finances.
Waste management is an area where I particularly look forward to mucking in! It may not be the most glamourous of issues, but it is a hugely important environmental issue, and there is a lot of work to be done to improve the way we deal with rubbish in Australia.
