2014 Local Hero Award Winners


Joan 'Heather' Johnson, 2014 Local Hero

Awarded for her outstanding, selfless contribution in her various long standing community roles, specialising in women's and ageing health services. Heather if a Life Member and has significant executive roles with the Australian Council on the Ageing, Waverley and Woollahra Community and Seniors Centre Associations and Quota International NSW.

  

Liron Smith, 2014 Young Local Hero

Liron, a volunteer with Kids Giving Back, is recognised for his exceptional, motivated and committed volunteering efforts and the ability to inspire others, as well as a substantial contribution across a wide range of charitable and community causes including significant major charities.< h2>2014 Certificates of Commendation

  

Peter Quartly

Acknowledged for his breadth of service and long term commitment to Friends of Waverley Library (both founding and a member of the executive committee for 25+ years), as well as his commitment to executive volunteer roles including North Bondi Precinct Coordinator, Bondi SLSC and Surf Life Saving Sydney Branch.
