Community Safety Advisory Committee

Aim of the Committee

To facilitate an informed, pro-active, coordinated approach to the development of community safety and crime prevention strategies in the Waverley LGA, and to promote co-operation between Council, the community, Government and non-government agencies in relation to community safety issues, with the vision of ensuring people feel safe, engaged and active within our community.

How often does the Committee meet?

Waverley Community Safety Advisory Committee meets quarterly and is chaired by Councillor Marjorie O’Neill.

Who attends the meetings?

The Committee consists of;

  • The Mayor or Mayor’s nominee
  • Two appointed Councillors
  • Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command
  • Community Representatives (including 2 from the Combined Precincts Committee)
  • The Chamber of Commerce
  • Representative from a relevant youth organisation.

The committee may invite representatives of other organisations, or individuals, as the need arises.
