The Mill Hill 60+ is a program for people aged 60 and over offered by the Waverley Community and Seniors Centre, based at the Mill Hill Centre. Mind and Body Program

Our Mind and Body Program is designed to help keep you independent, active and connected. Classes are held in a group setting and are general in nature with a focus on maintaining strength, stamina and balance through movement*.

*Programs are subject to change, and there are waitlists for some activities. Please note that classes are not an alternative to a prescribed specialist service in allied health, exercise physiotherapy, or targeted fitness. We will refer you to an appropriate service if your needs change and you require a more intense or targeted program.

Frequently Asked Questions

To participate you must check your eligibility to access our service and attend a meeting to discuss your individual preferences and needs.

If you are aged over 65, you must first check your eligibility with My Aged Care and request an assessment for social support group services by calling 1800 200 422.

Once your eligibility is confirmed, an intake meeting will be arranged to discuss how we may be able to match your needs to activities.

Please note that our service provides low-level support funded through the Commonwealth Home Support Program. There are wait lists for some activities.

For fitness classes, please bring a water bottle and mat.

Gentle: Improves balance and coordination.

Light: Improves coordination, agility and flexibility.

Moderate: Targets muscular strength, endurance and fitness.
