Queer Reads
A group for members of the local LGBTQI+ community and beyond to discuss queer lit, culture, graphic novels and much more in a fun and chilled environment.
Sydney Frontrunners
Sydney Frontrunners provide encouragement, support and community to LGBTQIA+ people and friends who are interested in running and walking.
Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club
LGBTQ+ friendly club committed to inclusiveness, which works with the community to promote beach safety at Tamarama and beyond. Offers volunteering opportunities.

The organisations and groups below provide specialist LGBTQIA+ support to people across Sydney and beyond.
Acceptance Sydney
A faith community for LGBTQIA+ Catholics. Offers monthly Mass, social events and spiritual support.
AIDS Council of NSW (ACON)
ACON provides extensive queer resources including HIV/LGBTQ+ health services, mental health support, domestic/family violence support, trans and gender diverse programs, sexual health information, community building, cancer support and Pride training.
ACON Pride Training
This program provides specialised LGBTQ+ awareness and inclusivity training to organisations.
BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation
Provides First Nations LGBTQIA+SB advocacy, training, and community development.
Dayenu
A Jewish LGBTQIA+ Sydney group that offers social events, religious services and support.
Inner City Legal Centre (ICLC)
Provides free specialised support and employment law advice to the LGBTIQA+ community, trans and gender diverse individuals, and sex workers in NSW.
Kaleido Health Centre
Specialised LGBTQ+ health service providing person-centred, integrated and multi-disciplinary care for sexuality and gender diverse people in NSW.
Kingsford Legal Centre
Based at UNSW Sydney, this centre provides free legal advice and assistance to people who live, work or study in the Randwick LGA.
Kirketon Road Centre
Provides access to free, anonymous health care for people experiencing homelessness, drug use or sex work. Offers HIV/STI care, counselling, and outreach across three locations.
Minus18
Youth-led organisation offering LGBTQIA+ events, education, resources and inclusion training.
Parents and Friends of Lesbian and Gays (PFLAG)
A non-profit voluntary organisation whose members have a common goal of keeping families together. PFLAG offers support and provides information to families and friends of LGBTIQA+ people.
Positive Life NSW
Provides peer-led support for people living with HIV. Offers counselling, ageing support, advocacy and social connection.
QLife
Free, confidential peer support and referral for LGBTQIA+ people via phone and webchat.
Rainbodhi
A community group for LGBTQIA+ Buddhists and their friends, which offers meditation and discussion in a safe and supportive environment.
Rainbow Families
Offers resources, events, education and provides advocacy and support for LGBTQIA+ parents, carers and families.
Rainbow Recovery Club
Hosts a range of 12-steps fellowships to support Sydney’s LGBTQIA+ communities who are struggling with alcohol, drugs or other compulsive behaviour.
Sex Workers Outreach Project (SWOP)
Provides peer-led support for sex workers. Offers health education, legal referrals, outreach, and harm reduction.
Sydney Queer and Disability community group (SQuAD)
SQuAD is committed to ensuring that the world caters to people who live with disabilities.
Sydney Queer Muslims
A non-profit organisation dedicated to providing social support, education and resources to individuals and families in NSW.
The Gender Centre
Statewide service for trans and gender diverse people. Offers housing, counselling, case management, education and support groups.
The Pinnacle Foundation
Provides educational scholarships, mentoring and opportunities for young LGBTQIA+ Australians to help them realise their full potential.
Trans Pride Australia (TPA)
Provides peer-led support, advocacy, and online spaces for trans and gender diverse people and their allies.
Transcend Australia
A parent-led peer support network for the families of transgender children in Australia. Transcend is working towards a world where trans, gender diverse and non-binary children are embraced and given every opportunity thrive and flourish.
Twenty10
Specialist services for LGBTQIA+ young people, including housing support, counselling and community programs.
Wear It Purple
Organisation that strives to foster supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for rainbow young people.

How Council supports the LGBTQIA+ community
Waverley Council supports the LGBTQIA+ community by:
- Delivering and funding inclusive events and programs

- Supporting safe and welcoming public spaces
- Promoting access to trusted support services
- Actively participating in the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival, proudly marching in the parade since 2024
