Footpath, including hoardings & footpath seating
If you would like to make use of footpath as part of building works, for outdoor seating or signage, you will need a permit from Council.
- Moveable footway signs and a-frames
Please view the information sheet for more details on where, how and under what conditions Council will permit moveable footway signs on footpaths. - Planting a footpath garden
You can apply to plant a footpath garden at the same time that you submit your Development Application. Planting a footpath garden is optional, but you must have Council consent first. - Hoardings & storage on Council’s footpath application
If your construction requires the erection of a hoarding over or the storage of building materials on a council footpath, you must first get approval. - Application for road / footpath opening permits
A Road Opening Permit is required to dig up a road, footpath or nature strip. - Footpath seating application (outdoor dining)
If you wish to provide outdoor seating for a restaurant or café on the road reserve, you must submit an application under the Roads Act 1993.
