Teaming up with the Roosters is a win for community well-being

Waverley Council and the Sydney Roosters have joined forces for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 footy seasons to have a positive impact on the community.

The collaboration will include promoting women’s participation in sport and a healthy active lifestyle for our younger residents.

Waverley Mayor Cr Will Nemesh, with Deputy Mayor Cr Keri Spooner and General Manager Emily Scott went to cheer on the Roosters at their home game at Allianz Stadium recently.

They met with Sydney Roosters CEO Joe Kelly, who said that the club was thrilled to formalise their long-standing and successful relationship with Council.

“It will create exciting opportunities for local organisations to experience Sydney Roosters match days, participate in grassroots clinics, and engage in a range of community-focused activities,” he said.

Mayor Nemesh said the partnership is a strong move for the health of the community and engaging with young people.

“We all know that community connection through sport has really positive benefits – and joining forces with the Roosters will take that spirit across the Waverley community to take local fitness and well-being to the next level,” he said.
