Tracing the history of the Waverley Artist Studios

A new exhibition showcasing past and present artists of the Waverley Artist Studios is launching on Thursday, 1 November at the Bondi Pavilion Gallery.

Traces of Places features the work of acclaimed contemporary artists Marisa Purcell, Harriet Body, Nicola Smith, Mason Kimber and Wendy Murray, who use the gesture of tracing to explore a sense of place.

The contemplative and thoughtful exhibition includes recent works presented in New York by Purcell, site specific pieces by Kimber, and a sample of Murray’s long term ‘daily’ drawing projects, drawings in smoke and paintings from films.

The Waverley Artist Studios is a program which supports emerging and professional artists through fully subsidised studio space to develop new work.

Traces of places is open daily from 10am to 5pm until Sunday, 18 November 2018 at the Bondi Pavilion Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Bondi Beach.
