What's on in Waverley in March
The change of season is upon us and even though the weather is cooling down, we’re speeding up! The calendar is stacked this month with activities for those who want to have a moment in nature, catch a movie in the park, or share a meal at Global Table.
When: 8 & 16 March
Where: 470 Bronte Road, Bronte
Time: 10 am – 2 pm
The beautiful Bronte House & Gardens opens its gates to our community twice this month, on 8 & 16 March from 10 am to 2 pm. The property features a quaint Gothic-style cottage and large, pristine gardens that border Bronte Gully.
Come and enjoy one of the oldest properties in our community, get your fix of gorgeous nature, and let the sights put you in a state of tranquility.

International Women's Day Award
When: 7 March
Where: Bondi Pavilion Theatre
Time: 5.30 - 7.30 pm
Every year, Council honours a leading female figure who has helped empower women in Waverley and beyond with the Waverley Council International Women’s Day Award. This year’s recipient, Camilla Franks, is a fashion pioneer, international businesswoman, and philanthropist, who hailed from our very own Bondi.

The beloved festival of food, music, and dance is back for 2025, this time earlier in the year, which means more sunshine! Now in its 16th year, Global Table showcases and celebrates diversity within both Waverley and the wider community.
Come along to try food from different cultures and enjoy making new friends whilst eating at our communal 35-metre-long dining table. Our event program is filled with incredible performers, bringing you a cultural experience in the form of dance, music, singing, and more. Want to get more involved? Now you can with a new offering of free dance workshops at the event.
This year’s event falls on the Saturday of Harmony Week, and we are proud to contribute to the celebration of diversity by bringing together people from different walks of life and backgrounds. Global Table is all about indulging the senses and embracing Waverley’s diversity to foster an inclusive and vibrant community.

Ocean Lovers Festival is an annual celebration that showcases the latest innovations, science, state-of-the-art technology and cool ideas for helping the ocean.
The festival comes to Bondi Beach on 22 & 23 March and will feature fantastic talks, markets, live music, yoga, arts, and more! Can’t make it to Bondi that weekend? Fear not! There is also a wider program of events throughout the entire month of March.

Where: High Tide Room, Bondi Pavilion
Time: 10 am – 4 pm
A BioBlitz is a way to record and identify as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. As part of Waverley’s Marine Diversity program, we are calling on scientists, nature lovers, school children and community members to record local marine animal and plant species between 9 am and 5 pm on Saturday 29 March using the iNaturalist App or a checklist for younger people.

Movies in the Park returns

When: 29 March
Where: Bondi Pavilion
Time: 6 pm
Join us for our first Movies in the Park screening of 2025, where we will be catching up with Gru and his family in Despicable Me 4 (2024). This installment of the beloved franchise captures Gru’s journey in navigating parenthood with a son who is intent on tormenting his dad. Gru and Gru Jr.’s peaceful existence comes crashing down when criminal mastermind, Maxime Le Mal, escapes from prison and vows revenge against Gru.
Movies in the park will continue throughout April, with screenings of DC League of Super-Pets (2022), The Lego Movie (2014), and Sing (2016). Keep an eye out for more information!

Where: The Boot Factory, 33 Spring Street, Bondi Junction
Time: 10 am – 12.30 pm
Repair Café is a free, Council-organised meet-up where locals can bring broken items for volunteers to fix. It helps keep items in use longer and out of landfills and also helps build community connections. This is an extra special Repair Café, as we will also be celebrating Neighbour Day with a Neighbour Cafe pop-up.
So, come along for music, kids’ activities, board games, chats, and more, with old and new friends while your beloved items get repaired.
