Service support
There are many low cost services for older people, and their carers, to maintain their independence, health and wellbeing. Services include assistance with housework, shopping, meals, showering, home modification, transport, access to health services, social connections and fitness activities.

- The Cottage is a social group for people with a diagnosis of dementia and who live in Eastern Sydney. This is an 'entry level' service for people living at home, who are still relatively independent and able to participate in activities and join in conversation with others thus getting the most out of the social interaction. Council provides the following services to assist people with maintaining their independence, health and wellbeing:
- Waverley Community and Seniors Centre: Social, fitness and wellbeing programs for over 55s
- Waverley Housing for Older People (WHOP): Low cost housing for eligible people
- Home Library Service: For residents who live in Waverley who have difficulty coming to the library or can’t carry books home due to age, illness or disability.
- Carers Parking Permit: Discount permit for paid or unpaid carers.
