Citizenship ceremonies
Waverley Council holds regular citizenship ceremonies for people who live in the Waverley Local Government Area. Ceremonies are by invitation only.
The Department of Home Affairs processes and approves Citizenship Applications and will invite you to attend a ceremony according to your approval date.
Invitations are sent by email, so be sure your email and other contact details are up to date in your Immi account.

Friday 26 Jan | 9am and 11am (Seagull Room, level 1) |
Saturday 3 February | 9.30am (Theatre, Level 1) |
Saturday 30 March | 9.30am and 11.30am (Theatre, Level 1) |
Saturday 6 April | 9.30am (Theatre, Level 1) |
Saturday 18 May | 9.30pm (Theatre, Level 1) |
Saturday 1 June | 9.30am (Theatre, Level 1) |
Ceremony dates are subject to change.
Our citizenship ceremonies
- Are usually held in the Bondi Pavilion Theatre
- Have approximately 80 conferees
- Run for approximately 40 minutes
You will need to
- Arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony
- Bring your approval letter from Department of Home Affairs and photo identification
Your family and friends are welcome to attend your ceremony but due to venue capacity we ask that you keep it to 1-2 guests per conferee.
