Waverley Architectural Mapping Project (WAMP)

The Waverley Architectural Mapping Project (WAMP) is a data collection project for information relating to the built form. The project involved collecting data for different built form attributes for the more than 12,000 property lots across the LGA. This resulted in more than 100,000 individual cells of data in excel.

The data from this project allowed Council staff to unpack the complex matrix of elements that make up the rich urban fabric of Waverley. It has directly informed a comprehensive review of Council’s heritage items and conservation areas, a detailed housing capacity analysis in the Local Housing Strategy and the Local Character Discussion Paper. The data has been used to test, strengthen and challenge Council staffs’ predetermined understanding of development patterns in the LGA.

This project was assisted by the NSW Government through the Heritage Near Me program.

Use of the data

The maps below show the following attributes for all properties in the LGA:

  • Number of storeys
  • Land use
  • Architectural style
  • Dwelling type
  • Car parking

The data is intended for information purposes only and Council can only ensure its accuracy at the time of data collection.

If there are any questions or issues detected with the data, please contact the Strategic Planning team on (02) 9083 8000.
