Planning a development

Waverley Council has a range of policies, tools and resources that can help you understand the types and scope of development possible on your site, inlcuding online maps, building file searches, Waverley LEP and DCP and information about exempt and complying development.
Development applications

You may be required to submit a Development Application (DA) to Waverley Council before you can make changes to a building or site. This might include building a residential, commercial or industrial building, making an alteration or addition to a residential, commercial or industrial property, subdividing land or changing the use of a building.

Waverley Local Planning Panel (WLPP)

The Waverley Local Planning Panel (WLPP) is responsible for determining significant development applications (DAs) in the Waverley LGA.
Compliance & regulations

Compliance and regulation is an important part of Council's community service, and involves a program of inspections, investigations and monitoring to ensure local businesses, residents and developers are complying with Council regulations and legislation. This helps to ensure a good quality of life for our local community.
