A message from the Mayor

17 September 2021

With another warm weekend forecast, Waverley Council is reminding the community to adhere to all Public Health Orders and health advice, given the current stay at home restrictions in place for Greater Sydney.

Council continues to coordinate with the Police, Transport for NSW, the Department of Health and neighbouring Councils on the use of public places.

Mayor of Waverley, Paua Masselos said: “NSW Police will be enforcing the Public Health Orders including the 5km travel limit, gathering in groups of no more than five fully vaccinated adults, and the wearing of masks”.

“In addition to our Rangers, Council has a number of COVID marshalls who will be working closely with the Police to remind people to adhere to Public Health Orders,” Mayor Masselos said.

“We have deployed mobile signage at our parks and beaches.

“We thank the majority of people in our community who abide by the Public Health Orders and we would like to remind everyone to play their part, including getting vaccinated and tested, ”
