Sydney Coastal Councils Group calls on the NSW Government to continue to resource the Beachwatch water quality monitoring program

The Sydney Coastal Councils Group (SCCG), representing nine coastal and estuarine councils in Sydney, including Waverley, is calling on the NSW Government to maintain the NSW Beachwatch program as a fully-funded state program without shifting costs to Sydney coastal councils.

Waverley Council strongly supports the continuation of Beachwatch and looks forward to working with the NSW Government so that they continue to resource it.

The Beachwatch water quality monitoring program helps people make informed decisions about where and when to swim and has been provided by the government since 1989.
