- Waverley's original Local Hero Award is back!
Waverley's original Local Hero Award is back!
03 March 2023
3 March 2023
Know someone who works selflessly for the community or who stands out because of their community work, generosity and commitment to others? Nominate them now for the Waverley Local Hero Awards—Waverley’s original Local Hero Awards run by Waverley Council.
The Waverley Local Hero Awards recognise people’s contributions to community services and wellbeing, arts and culture, sports and recreation, the environment and volunteering.
Mayor of Waverley, Paula Masselos, said Local Hero nominees help make Waverley an even better place to live, work and do business, and make such a positive impact on our community.
“The Waverley Local Hero Awards is just one of the ways Waverley Council helps recognise outstanding work in our community, in particular our volunteers, and young people making a difference,” Mayor Masselos said.
“There are so many people in our community that a deserve a massive thank-you and recognition at a local government level for the selfless work that they do.”
The nomination process is super easy and nomination forms take just a few minutes to complete.
The 2023 Waverley Local Hero Awards are extra special because they include the Best of the Best Award, bestowed every four years to outstanding community leaders.
“I’m sure everyone knows that special person who helps make a difference to their lives but whose great work may go unnoticed.
“Now is the time to nominate, help spread the word and celebrate our Waverley Local Heroes!”.
Nominations close 5pm, Monday 13 March.
