Community launch of the Bondi Memorial

Media are invited to attend the community launch of the Bondi Memorial on Saturday 4 June 2022 from 10.30am to 11.30am at Marks Park, Tamarama.

The Bondi Memorial is dedicated to all the victims and survivors targeted during a spate of homophobic and transphobic violence from the 1970s to the 1990s in Sydney and NSW. Many of these incidents took place in Marks Park.

The Memorial commemorates those whose lives were lost and pays tribute to the courage and resilience of those who survived, as well as their families and loved ones.

Titled ‘Rise’, the Memorial has been designed by lead designer John Nicholson of Urban Art Projects (UAP).
