- Increase to residential parking
Increase to residential parking
26 February 2020
26 February 2020
At Tuesday night’s Council meeting, Council endorsed for public exhibition a new monthly overnight parking permit fee for Waverley residents at Hollywood Avenue Car Park, Bondi Junction.
Residents will soon be able to apply for a monthly non-transferable pass to park in the secure car park at a discounted rate between the hours of 5pm-9am.
"Not only is this a service to our residents, we also think this is a great way tou tilise the parking spaces Council provides," Mayor of Waverley, Paula Masselos said.
"On-street parking is in high demand across our LGA due to the sheer number of people who live, work and visit our area. Most residents do not have private off-street parking, so wes ee a great opportunity in being able to provide the Hollywood Avenue Car Park for overnight use for residents.
"With regards to Bondi Junction specifically, making the Hollywood Avenue Car Park available for overnight use not only gives residents access to regular secure covered parking but will help free-up street parking in surrounding streets."
The Council will publicly exhibit the proposed amendment to the Hollywood Avenue Car Park fees section of the Pricing Policy, Fees and Charges 201920 for a period of 28 days. The Council will propose a discounted fee of $140 per month for residents.
