Waverley Council and the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command (PAC) have unveiled a new Council-sponsored police vehicle.

The Eastern Suburbs PAC will use the Council-sponsored vehicle for crime prevention activities and community engagement as part of a three-year sponsorship agreement.

Mayor of Waverley, Paula Masselos, said the police vehicle sponsorship program is just one of the ways Council and Police are working together to prevent crime in the east.

“Waverley Council is pleased that we can assist the police in working with the community to keep crime to the low rates that it is,” Mayor Masselos said.

Eastern Suburbs PAC Acting Superintendent Matt Scott said he was appreciative of the Council's commitment to local policing.

“The car will become a regular feature on the roads in the Eastern Suburbs. If you see the car around, please come and speak with police. Police are always interested in hearing from the community and discussing tips and tricks to reduce crime and keep the community safe," Acting Superintendent Scott said.
