MEDIA RELEASE

Don’t miss out on a series of one-off events and workshops at the Bondi Pavilion this February as we celebrate what we love about summer.

Dance and music performances, film screenings, exhibitions and talks will be held at the Bondi Pavilion for the month long event.

Now in its second year, the line-up includes Australian musical talent Alex the Astronaut, outdoor swing dance classes to get you moving, art workshops and fascinating film maker talks and screenings.

Mayor of Waverley John Wakefield says there is no better place to spend summer than at the iconic cultural hub that is Bondi Pavilion.

“Where else would you rather be? The Bondi Pavilion is a very fitting location to hold a line-up of beach and surf events.

“The idea behind Surf’s Up was to create something reflective of surf culture and unique for the local area.

“We wanted to tap into the local creative and cultural community, the surf and beach community and provide a series events that included all of these groups to showcase them for everyone to enjoy.” Mayor Wakefield said.

Don’t miss out on the dance spectacular - the Bondi Surf and Dance on Sunday 18 February where the Harbour City Hoppers and the Andrew Dickeson’s Blue Rhythm Band will take you back in time to the Playground of the Pacific as the Pavilion was known. Join them Lindy Hopping or just watch – it will be a night you won’t forget!

The sizzling summer event runs from 3 February to 24 February. All events will need to be booked through Eventbrite.
