Lights, Camera, Action – Don’t miss Screen Citizens!
19 September 2017
MEDIA RELEASE
Waverley Council is thrilled to announce a series of film screenings and talks, celebrating local and Australian film talent including some of Australia’s most iconic films as part of Screen Citizens.
For the first time since it was released, a digital restoration of the 1982 cult classic, Starstruck along with many other iconic Australian films will be screened at the Bondi Pavilion Theatre during October and November.
Acting General Manager Cathy Henderson says it is exciting that Waverley Council will host this series of films and discussions with filmmakers.
“Bondi has long been recognised as a thriving creative community with musicians, visual artists, writers, film makers and thought-leaders all contributing to our rich cultural fabric.
“To celebrate and acknowledge the talent of our local film makers we are running this series of film screening and talks.
“Each screening will include a discussion with the director, producer or writers of the film who will share the stories of making their films in the context of the Australian film industry. This is a rare opportunity and one not to be missed.”
Screen Citizens will be hosted by film reviewer Peter Castaldi and is open to everyone from film lovers, film students, emerging film makers, industry professionals to those who love to listen to great stories and have a chat in the Bondi Pavilion bar over looking the famous Bondi Beach.
