Entries open for Waverley Art Prize

Waverley Council is calling for entries into the 31st Waverley Art Prize with a $12,000 prize pool up for grabs.

The annual prize is open to painting, drawing andprintmaking. Entries are open to artist’s 18-years and over. 

This year’s judges are contemporary artist andpainter Wendy Sharpe and Will Sturrock.

Wendy an acclaimed artist, has a repertoire of workincluding winning the Archibald Prize and is also a previous Waverley Art Prizewinner.

Will is the Director of Michael Reid Gallery. He isalso an art writer, Gallery Director, and manager whose passion forcontemporary art is underscored by more than a decade of industry experience.

“We are very proud to host this amazing annual eventin conjunction with Waverley Woollahra Art School.” Mayor Sally Betts said.

“The entrants have incredible talent and every yearthe works get better and better. I’m personally excited to see what entrieswill be submitted this year.”
