City2Surf 2018: Road closures and clearways
08 August 2018
Date: Sunday 12 August 2018
Location: Sydney CBD to Bondi Beach
Road closures and special event clearways will be in place throughout the Sydney CBD and the Eastern Suburbs on Sunday 12 August 2018 for the annual City2Surf.
Over 80,000 people will take on the spectacular 14km course from Hyde Park in the Sydney CBD to the iconic Bondi Beach to help raise over $5 million for charity.
Road closures
Key road closures include:
- Sydney CBD from 3:30am: sections of College St, Park St and Macquarie St.
- Woolloomooloo to Double Bay from 6am: William St through to New South Head Rd at Ocean Ave.
- Double Bay to Bondi from 7am: New South Head Rd, Old South Head Rd and Military Rd.
- Bondi Beach from 6am: Campbell Pde between Hall Street and Blair St. Note: Campbell Pde between Ramsgate Ave and Blair St is closed one hour earlier, from 6am, this year. Local resident access at North Bondi will be managed via Brighton Blvd until 7am (exit only).
Local traffic at Bondi Beach will be available via Hall St.
If you need to drive on event day ensure you park your vehicle outside of the event course as vehicles entering or parked on closed roads will be towed and/or fined.
Eastgate carpark has a $15 cap rate for all day parking for the event.
Special event clearways
Special event clearway parking restrictions will again be in effect along the entire course. Clearways are strict ‘no parking’ zones and apply even to local residents or RMS Mobility Scheme Parking Permit holders.
The following clearway will be in effect near you:
- Rose Bay to Bondi from 1am until 4pm: on both sides of New South Head Rd, Old South Head Rd, Military Rd and Campbell Pde
Vehicles left in signposted clearways will be towed and a fee applies so check signs carefully, especially the night before. If your vehicle has been towed, call the Traffic Information Line on 132 701 to find its new location.
