- Bondi Innovation Forum explores the artificial intelligence revolution
Bondi Innovation Forum explores the artificial intelligence revolution
26 April 2024
The transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on business is the theme of this year’s Bondi Innovation Forum on Friday 10 May at Bondi Pavilion and online from 10am to 12.15pm.
Our nine speakers will delve into the revolutionary world of AI and unpack its complexities, providing real-world experiences, practical tips, and firsthand insights to help unlock its full potential.
Attendees will discover how AI can transform their business operations, boost productivity, and drive innovation for future growth.
The Bondi Innovation Forum is presented by Waverley Council in partnership with Bondi Innovation, and Bondi & Districts Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s speakers are:
- Sophie Renton, social researcher, trends analyst and managing director at McCrindle.
- Iain McDonald from startup 8seats which launched this year
- Kristen Migliorini, founder and CEO of technology startup Komplyai
- Adrian Falk from Believe Advertising & PR
- Emma Lo Russo, CEO OF Digivizer, Australia’s global digital marketing technology and activations company
- Ben Fitzpatrick, Chief Strategy Officer at independent digital growth consultancy Webprofits
- Kian Moini, founder of Q-Tox
- Sonia Shwabsky, CEO, Kwik Kopy Australia
- Eamonn Egan, the visionary behind the disti.Ai platform
Mayor of Waverley, Paula Masselos, said the forum is suited to anyone in business, and those with an interest in AI, including startups, small to medium businesses and tech enthusiasts.
“The Bondi Innovation Forum is just one of the many ways we’re supporting our business community whilst recognising and positioning Bondi and Sydney’ eastern suburbs as a world class innovation precinct,” Mayor Masselos said.
“By providing opportunities for education and collaboration, we’re aiming to retain and attract entrepreneurs to the area, nurture their creativity and support them to succeed.
“Business operators are maturing their understanding of AI, which has wide-ranging impacts on how people do business, from revenue generation and cyber security to the automation of administrative functions.”
A 2023 CSIRO National Artificial Intelligence Centre report found that 68% of Australian businesses had already implemented AI technologies and a further 23% are planning to implement in the next 12 months. Privacy, security, and data quality are challenges impacting AI adoption, exacerbated by talent shortages in Australia.
Bondi & Districts Chamber of Commerce president, Emmanuel Constantinou said the forum is a platform for the entrepreneurial community to amplify and promote forward thinking ideas, including around AI, to help progress our community and is an important catalyst for growth and motivation.
Bondi Innovation founder Ross Dawson said the Forum, now in its fourth year, is an important event on the innovation agenda, and is helping entrepreneurs catalyse their potential, and highlights Bondi’s strong entrepreneurial environment.
For those who cannot attend the event in person, the forum will be live streamed from Bondi Pavilion Theatre. To register to attend, or to view remotely, visit innovationbondi.com.au.
