Be a part of Bondi Festival 2020
18 May 2020 | Media Release
18 May 2020
Expressions of interest (EOI) are now open for local businesses to partner with Waverley Council and Bondi & Districts Chamber of Commerce on the newly reimagined Bondi Festival in October 2020.
Mayor of Waverley, Paula Masselos, said it was a great opportunity for local business to put forward their creative ideas for the festival to reboot Bondi this spring.
“COVID-19 has greatly affected our local businesses and our capacity to continue to hold cultural events in our public spaces,” Mayor Masselos said.
“As the curve begins to flatten, I’m really exciting about our future events and welcoming people back to Bondi for this fantastic festival.”
Businesses can submit an EOI to be involved in a number of ways, including:
- Adopting Bondi Festival themed shopfront dressing/visual merchandising Furnishing your shopfront and/or digital mediums with Bondi Festival designs and activations.
- As a venue for live performance
Acting as a venue for arts programming e.g. theatre, cabaret, circus. This includes programming for families and adults. The Festival team will partner your venue with show/s. - As a venue for a visual artwork
Acting as a venue for non-performative arts programming e.g. projections, sculptures, visual art exhibitions. The Festival team will partner your venue with artworks. - As a participating venue in our Food Safari
A culinary walking tour, in which a participating venue would be one of up to five stops, providing a dish along the way. - Bondi Festival: Bytes
Our digital arts festival in July 2020, through which we would partner you with an artist who would make a 1-2 minute performance inspired by your business to be shared via social media. - Offering Discounts or Specials for Bondi Festival patrons
For example, 25% off yoga mats, 2-4-1 deals across the festival dates
“I encourage as many local businesses as possible to put their hand to help us bring the best in arts and culture to Bondi,” Mayor Masselos said.
“This EOI process will also help us get to know our local businesses even better and how we can best work together with our business community into the future.”
