There's even an APP for that! Find your way through Waverley Cemetery

MEDIA RELEASE
5 April 2018
If you are tracing a family member's life, want to know where a relative is buried or just want a peaceful walk through Waverley's historic, heritage-listed cemetery, Waverley Council's new iCemetery App will help you find what you are looking for.
iCemetery provides a fast and easy way to find people buried or cremated at Waverley and South Head Cemeteries.
Using your GPS location, the app will map out directions to the gravesite you are searching for.
Just enter a first name and surname and it will search for a match.
The cemeteries are the final resting place of poet Dorothea Mackellar and writer Henry Lawson, the founder of the Archibald Prize, Jules Francois Archibald and Australian cricketer Jack Fingleton. Amongst the cemeteries' famous, you'll also find book seller William Dymock, the State's first Chief Justice Sir Francis Forbes, the country's first Prime Minister Sir Edmund Barton and members of both the Packer and Fairfax publishing empires.
Waverley Mayor John Wakefield said the app takes the pain out of the long search through cemetery records.
“We are very proud to be one of the earliest adopters of this technology in Australia,” he said.
“The grounds of Waverley and South Head Cemeteries span over 16 hectares, with over 60,000 burial plots, so we know the app will be a valuable improvement to the way we search for friends and family members.”
iCemetery is free to download and is available for Android and Apple devices via Google Play or iTunes. People can also use iCemetery at the kiosk at Waverley and South Head Cemetery offices.
