- South Bronte Amenities and Community Centre upgrade
South Bronte Amenities and Community Centre upgrade
12 November 2018 | Media Release
12 November 2018
South Bronte Amenities and Community Centre upgrade
Concept designs for the South Bronte Amenities and Community Centre upgrade are now open for community feedback until Sunday, 9 December.
Waverley Council is upgrading the building next to Bronte Pool as part of the Bronte Park and Beach Plan of Management (POM)* 2017.
The POM requires that the upgrade include upgraded toilets, family change facilities and an ambulant toilet.
Following community consultation in July 2018, Council received feedback around how the facilities are currently used, ideas on what works well and what could be improved.
Based on the feedback and what is required in the POM, the appointed architects, Panovscott, have developed three concept designs for the upgrade.
To provide feedback about your preferred option, please complete the online survey at haveyoursaywaverley.nsw.gov.au or attend one of our Have Your Say days on Saturday, 24 November from 8.30am to 11.30am or Thursday, 29 November from 7.30am to 10.30am outside the South Bronte Amenities and Community Centre.
The building is used by thousands of swimmers each week, but is in overall poor condition. It has been affected by many storms, including June 2016’s wild storms, which forced the closure of Bronte Pool and the coastal walk through Waverley Cemetery.

*The POM is a 10-year strategy created through public consultation and research to identify the future use of the site and management of the varied and changing needs of the area. Research included a Universal Access Study by independent experts and legal advice on accessibility requirements. It identifies the upgrade amenities block as a medium term priority for action within 1-5 years.
