You’ll want a piece of this – Global Table
01 May 2017 | Media Release
MEDIA RELEASE
Everyone is taco-ing about it – Global Table is back. The heart of Bondi Junction will be transformed into a cultural extravaganza of food, music, dancing and entertainment this May.
Bring your butter half along on Sunday 7 May to feast your senses on an array of international food stalls.
It might sound cheesy, but you’re guaranteed to have a grate day at this year’s event with a 35 metre long communal table in Oxford Street Mall.
Don’t go bacon any hearts- share your food with friends, or you could take the opportunity to meet some new ones.
Waverley Mayor Sally Betts said food brings communities together.
“Global Table is a really important day in Waverley. We can all get together, make new friends, find new tastes and show all our visitors and residents that everyone is welcome in Waverley.
“Global Table is getting bigger and better every year. It's great fun and I hope to see you there.”
If the food is not enough, we’ll have you wonton-ing more. There will also be song and dance performances from around the world and fun children’s activities. You’ll be happier than you have ever bean!
Belly dancers, Polish folk dancing, an Italian vocalist, African drums and a dance troupe from the Cook Islands are just some of the entertainment to keep you korma and curry on.
You’ll might need to do some avo-cardio after sampling this selection of food or you can take advantage of the special parking rate on offer at Eastgate Shopping Centre. A maximum rate of $15 will apply to any level for the whole day.
