The Waverley Council election will be held on Saturday 9 September. All residents will have the opportunity to vote on the day for who will represent them on Council.

Council comprises of four wards – Bondi, Hunter, Lawson and Waverley with three councillors representing each ward. At the election people will only vote for the councillors to represent their specific ward.

If you are enrolled on the Commonwealth/State electoral roll as residing in Waverley Council as at Monday 31 July 2017, you will be included on the roll for this election.

Polling places will be open for voting on Election Day from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

If you cannot vote on the day, you can vote earlier at pre-poll venues or by postal vote.

If you are eligible, you will be able to apply for a postal vote through the NSW Electoral Commission website from Monday, 31 July until 5.00pm Monday,4 September when completed votes must be received by the Commission.

Pre-polling will be available at the Community Room at the Margaret Whitlam Recreation Centre, located at Waverley Park on Bondi Road from Monday 28 August to 6pm Friday 8 September.

If you are an owner, rate-paying lessee or occupier of rateable land which is not your primary residence, you or a nominee may be entitled to be included on the non-residential roll for this election.

Enrolment claim forms for the non-residential roll are available via the Council website or at our Customer Service Centre located at 55 Spring Street, Bondi Junction and must be lodged with Council by 6pm on Monday 31 July. Enrolment claims for the non-residential roll made for a previous council election are no longer valid and a new application will need to be completed.

Voting is compulsory for everyone enrolled in the council area so now is the time for residents to check their enrolment details to make sure they are up to date.
