Waverley Council is planning some fantastic events for Make Music Day on Wednesday 21 June including pop-up musicians in Bondi Junction and a free lunchtime Classic Hits concert at Bondi Pavilion.

Renowned jazz singer Greg Poppleton will bring Hollywood’s Golden Era to life with his infectious jazz and swing numbers inspired by the 1920s and 30s. Register here for your free ticket.

Famed Kenyan singer-songwriter, arranger and producer Lisa Oduor-Noah and local artist Miriam Lieberman will share their insights about their journeys in music in a free and intimate artist talk at Bondi Pavilion theatre. Oduor-Noah is a Berklee College of Music graduate who tours around the world, performing soulful jazz pop originals with her dynamic band. Waverley local Lieberman’s musical style is inspired by her transformational time studying music in Latin America & West Africa. Together they will discuss their careers in music, inspirations, and cultural influences as singer/songwriters. Book your spot here.

Make Music Day is an international celebration of music in all its forms, encouraging both amateur and professional music-making. The Council holds Make Music Day events each year and supports homegrown musical talent through other initiatives such as the Bondi WAVE youth band song-writing program and our Sunshine Singers group.
