Small grants program
If you are working on a project that will benefit the local community, environment, or streets and need some help, Waverley’s Small Grants Program might be an option for getting the support you need.
Before Submitting
If your proposal involves a garden on public land, please email: publicgardening@waverley.nsw.gov.au
Organisations seeking subsidised use of Council facilities should apply separately through our Venue Hire Grants Program.This external link will open in a new window
Application process
Applying for a Waverley Small Grant just got a whole lot easier!
Council now uses the popular Smarty Grants online system to manage applications and reporting. The system will assist you in completing your grant application accurately and enable you to view and track your application.
Some of the features of SmartyGrants are:
- Save your application progress and return to complete your application at a later date;
- Your application is stored online, so no risk of losing your work;
- You can be certain that we have received your application when you submit it;
- If you have used Smartygrants to apply for any other grant, you can use the same login and be able to view and manage all the grants.
Small Grants are available in three streams
-
Community & Cultural Grants
Individuals, community groups and services, and sole traders and small business engaged in the creative industries, can apply in March and August with proposals that deliver identifiable social, cultural, and recreational benefits to the Waverley community.
-
Environmental Grants
Schools, child care centres, incorporated community groups and local micro businesses can apply in March and August with proposals that contribute to a sustainable local community and environment, and targets linked to Council's Environmental Action Plan (EAP).
-
Creative Streets Grants
Individuals, community groups and precinct groups, schools and local business can apply in March with proposals that contribute to improving Waverley's streetscapes.
