Library spaces

Waverley Library is so much more than just books. It’s a warm and welcoming community hub where members can connect to others in the community, expand their knowledge and skills and feel inspired.

Explore some of the library’s spaces below.

	Level One Plenty of spaces to study as well as various-sized meeting rooms available to book, public computers and the family history digitisation station.
	Adult Library Warm and inviting spaces to relax, work or study in with plenty of resources to browse and programs to enjoy.
	Children’s Library Designated area with a huge selection of resources for kids to enjoy and free programming.
	Local History Archives A wealth of resources that offer insight into Waverley’s past, from images to oral history collections.
	Waverley Library Galleries Gallery space that showcases local artists, with regular exhibitions throughout the year.
	Local History Reading Room Inviting space to relax, work, study or explore the local history collection.
	Study rooms Four rooms available for members to book for individual and group study.
	Boot Factory Library Small pop up library in the Boot Factory featuring a selection of popular titles, magazines and newspapers.

Spaces available for hire

The library also has a number of modern function venues that are available for hire. Visit our online booking system for details about the library’s hireable spaces, including specifications, virtual tours and fees and charges, and to make a booking.

	Theatrette Large room with theatre-style seating, suitable for seminars and large meetings and training sessions.
	Children’s Activity Room Small room suitable for small group training and activities of up to 10 people.

Waverley Library Social Story

This Social Story / Social Narrative is designed to support neurodiverse children and individuals in attending the library. It has been created to explain the experience of going to the library, to help understand what may happen and how to handle the varying situations that may occur whilst here. Ideally, a social story is read frequently before a new event or experience.

We also have a physical copy of this story in the library, please ask at the children’s desk if you would like to borrow it.  In addition, we welcome community feedback on the social story and may be able to adjust the text to better support your family member.
