Volunteering at Waverley Library

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, develop new skills, contribute to the community and gain an understanding of how a busy public library operates.

Depending on your availability and skills, there is a vast range of activities with which you can be involved.

We'll do our best to match each volunteer with tasks and available times that are requested in the application.

Waverley has a fulfilling and interactive library volunteering program with several opportunities available:

  • Duke of Edinburgh Awards: Complete your Bronze, Silver or Gold Award volunteer hours with us.
  • Tech Help Program: Do you consider yourself a tech expert? Then we need you. Our Tech Time volunteers offer our patrons personal assistance with common computer software programs, tablets and phones.
  • Public programs: Active and creative skills are required here. Assist in our wide range of events, from inspiring author talks to creative kids’ activities.
  • Local Studies: Projects for those with a passion for local history.
  • General Library assistance: Get acquainted with the collections and broaden your appreciation for new authors, genres and titles.
